The government authorities claimed to have prepared the Chhath ghats, but what about the dust kicked up on the damaged roads by thousands of devotees heading towards event venue.

A case in point: The road (under New Ashok Nagar metro lane) that links Noida border to the Chhath ghat. Every person on the road could be been coughing.

For residents of East End Apartments, a group housing society located on this, the situation is dire.

SK Srivastava, a senior citizen who lives in East End Apartments, said, “Around 4.30 pm, I could feel the dust in the air. At 6 pm, when I came out from my flat, it was tough to stay outside even for a minute. The government should have sprinkled water on this road.”

The residents will face the same situation tomorrow, as devotees will hit the Chhath ghat in the early morning to pray for sunrise.
