The smog is getting better... but just a little

November 7 was bad. November 8 was worse. We are sure you saw pictures of what various parts of the NCR looked like. Hazy, dusty and smoggy. It wasn't a whiteout — it was a greyout.

The capital was put on high alert, with schools closing down for the week and people covered in scarves and masks coughing away their days profusely.

However, it's Day 3 now and things seem to be getting better. At least the visibility has improved, thanks, possibly, to better wind movement.

The AQI, however, is a different matter altogether. Where the AQI was 600 yesterday, it went up to 680 this morning.

However, weather forecasts say things should be getting better by tomorrow, November 10.

Here, take a look for yourself at what Noida looked like this morning:

However, as this image of Prateek Fedora in Sector 61, Noida, shows, the smog isn't getting better at some places. This image was taken at 1.30 pm today. This, with the AQI pegged at 491 in Noida now, at 2.10 pm.

Strange indeed are the ways of the pollution.
