These days the women of the sub city are congregating in the community hall of Sector 23 in a bid to become digitally savvy. Through a programme organised jointly by Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-Together (ANHLGT) and Help Age India women are being trained to use the smart phone, internet and computer. President of ANHLGT, Cicily Kodiyan said, “We are digitally empowering women above 50.  We are also making them aware of cyber security, social media, facebook, twitter etc. Apart from that they are being trained on digital banking.”

These classes are free and imparted twice a day. Treasurer of ANHLGT, Mini George said, “The response has been very encouraging and women are demonstrating enthusiasm in terms of learning and handling smart phones and social media.”

Some of the learners have shared their experiences with City Spidey. Chitra Jain from Kamakshi Apartments said, “I wanted to learn more about technology as I already know the basics. This initiative by ANHLGT is completely laudable.”  Neeru Gupta another women and member of ANHLGT says that she is very keen on incorporating a digital way of life. In her words, “I am learning and amassing knowledge with every session.”
