Motorists driving from Nodia to Delhi via Akshardham flyover get a big relief from Monday as the PWD officials have completed repair work on Noida-Delhi flyover. The PWD officials were filling up gaps between girders and completed the job on Sunday.
A senior official of the Public Works Department, which had started repair work last week, told City Spidey on Sunday that repair work on one portion of the carriageway (Nodia to Delhi) will be completed today. The work of filling gaps on girders on the other side (Delhi to Noida) of the carriageway will be finished by next week.
As earlier reported by City Spidey on January 8, PWD officials had detected gaps between girders near the Akshardham flyover during routine survey. Its traffic department was given two weeks’ time to plug the gaps.
“Half the carriageway (Noida to Delhi), which was blocked for one week, will be opened to motorists from Monday. The other side, Delhi to Noida, will open for traffic after the end of next week," said Prakash Kumar, PWD Supervisor.
So far, the PWD officials have repaired three expansion joints on one side of the flyover.
