Federation of Noida RWAs, or FONRWA, has demanded that Noida Authority include two of its members on its board to help take important decisions concerning residents. The demand was raised through a letter written by FONRWA to Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon.

The move comes after Noida Authority, on Thursday, decided to include two industrialists as special invitees on its board to take decisions pertaining to industrial policy.

According to FONRWA, even though Noida was set up about 40 years back, there has been no resident representation in Noida Authority. “RWAs are a crucial link between the public and the Authority, which works to protect the interests of citizens,” a member said.

NP Singh, president of FONRWA, told City Spidey that at present, all functions related to provision of civic amenities, development and welfare were taken by the Noida Board headed by the Noida Authority chairman, with no public representation. “In the absence of publicly elected representatives, we cannot be sure that the interests of Noida citizens will be protected. We have, therefore, asked that at least two representatives from FONRWA be associated with the Noida Board," Singh said.
