Ghaziabad: Ashiana Upvan Society dwellers conduct awareness rally for Earth Hour

Earth Hour" is a worldwide movement held annually encouraging communities and people to turn off electric lights from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on a specific day towards the end of March.

The movement is considered to be a symbol of commitment towards our planet. This year "Earth Hour" will be celebrated on Saturday, i.e. 24th March, 2018.

Indirapuram’s Ashiana Upvan Society residents took out a rally on Friday evening in order to raise awareness regarding “Earth Hour”. An NGO Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan took out an awareness match apart from conducting a street play in the society in order to raise environmental awareness.

Anil Sharma, General Secretary of Ashiana Upvan AOA said that, “The program was organised by society residents with the help of the NGO members. Apart from the Nukkad Natak (street play), residents and children also took part in an awareness rally within their society premises.”

The Nukkad troupe then headed to Niho Scottish Gardens and performed there as well. 

DK Maurya, President of Niho Scottish Gardens said, "Awareness programs for such issues are the need of the hour. We are planning to organise more such programs in other societies as well"
