Gautam Budh Nagar police launches 'Operation Pink' to ensure women's safety

Noida and Greater Noida have witnessed an upsurge in crimes against women in recent times and several cases of harassment have also come to light.

In order to counter such atrocities against females and provide them heightened security, the Gautam Budh Nagar police have launched ‘Operation Pink’ under the directions of SSP Ajay Pal Sharma.

As per this campaign, woman police officials will keep a watch on crimes taking place against women for a week apart from conducting swift action against offenders.

ADDL. SP (Crime), GB Nagar, Preeti Bala Gupta said that ‘Operation Pink’ has been launched for a week to ensure safety and security of women within the district.

She further said that nineteen teams have been formed regarding this campaign which constitute of a woman police inspector, five women sub-inspectors, seventy-eight women constables and ninety policemen. The teams have been provided fifteen PCR vans and four other vehicles termed as ‘Shakti Vahans’.

The SP said that as per ‘Operation Pink’, the police have surveyed all the areas where crimes occurred against women. Moreover, she added that the police will be secretly watching such areas and those indulging in such anti-social activities wouldn’t be spared.
