The issue of hike in school fees seems to be spreading like wildfire in the NCR. And it has reached Pathways School in Sector 100, Noida.

About 100 parents protested outside the school campus against the 10-15 per cent fee hike every year.

Neha Singh, one of the parents, said, “The school is not only increasing the tuition but also the transport fee. But the school's infrastructure, such as the playgrounds, is in a pathetic state.”

Another parent, Shankar Prasad, told City Spidey, “Unwillingness to roll back the fees shows the high-headedness of schools.”

Shalini Adwani, the school’s director, refused to talk to the media and the staff did not react to the protest either. However, according to parents, the principal told them that the higher management had been informed of their concerns.

However, it is interesting to note that despite several such protests held in Noida recently, none of the schools have rolled back their fees. The Noida district magistrate had also assured parents that their problems would be looked into but nothing has been done so far.

Was it just an empty promise?
