The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of Class X exams on Tuesday.

Prakhar Mittal, a student of DPS Gurgaon, emerged as joint all –India topper along with three other students and secured 499 out of 500 marks in the exams.

Prakhar, a resident of Sector 55, said that he was shocked upon checking his marks and immediately informed his parents.

“I knew I had done good in the exams. However, it’s a dream come true to be an all-India topper. Even my parents did not ever think that I can secure the first rank”, said Prakhar.

Prakhar said he studied for at least four to five hours in a day and took timely breaks in between. He further added that once the breaks were over, he resumed studies for another three to four hours.

“I am feeling very excited after the results. I was honestly not expecting such great marks. I took coaching from FiitJee and aspire to be an engineer. I am interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics”, Prakhar said.

Prakhar claimed that his mother has played an important role in his success.

Prakhar’s mother Prachi Aggarwal said that her son is sincere and highly determined. He always knew what he wanted to do and used to consistently  revise whatever he studied in school. His mother further added that he also loves to play the piano.
