The district magistrate of Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari, on Friday ordered to close the schools and colleges from August 6 to August 9 due to “Kanwar Yatra.”
The order will be applicable to all the private and government schools and colleges operating in the district.
The number of “Kanwar Yatris” is expected to rise significantly from Monday on the Delhi-Meerut road.
The schools will remain closed irrespective of whether examinations are scheduled or not.
The security has also beefed up in the district during the “Kanwar Yatra.”
