Residents of Cloud 9, Indirapuram, conducted a plantation drive today in their society on the occasion of Independence Day.

To mark the 72nd Independence Day, residents planted 72 saplings of Ashoka and Tulsi plants. “We planted exactly 72 plants to pay homage to our 72nd year of Independence,” AOA secretary Sandeep Pandey said.

Around 400 people came together for the event. “Kids were the most excited —   and they pitched in with full enthusiasm,” Pandey said.

He further informed that a small Tulsi van [forest] was created with 22 different varieties of the plant — residents are expected to add more varieties in future.

The planting happened around the boundary walls of the society.
