Deputy CM Manish Sisodia yesterday paid a visit to the Lodi-era, restored baoli at Sector 12, Dwarka. While underscoring the importance of community involvement in preservation of such historical sites, he also interacted with the residents of Gangotri Apartments that’s located just beside the baoli.

Residents of Gangotri Apartments tabled their concerns before the deputy CM.

RWA vice-president of Gangotri Apartments, Vidya Ranjan, said, “We made him aware how the historically important site had turned into a place for open drinking at night. It has become a den for miscreants. This site needs to be developed to attract visitors.

President of Gangotri Apartments, Umesh Kala, said, "We are proud of this site and it must be properly maintained. We are grateful that it has been restored, but, at the same time, we are unhappy at its ill maintenance.”

The baoli was restored a couple of years back, and is now being maintained by the department of archaeology under Delhi government.
