In a daring act, a house in Greater Noida’s Sector Alpha 2 was recently robbed of cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh when the family was away at a relative’s place for a long weekend. Realising the situation, victim Rakesh Mishra, without wasting any time, reported the incident at Kasna police station.

When asked about the whole incident, Mishra told City Spidey, “We left the house around 1 pm on Saturday to meet a relative in Haryana. When we returned on Monday around 7 pm, we saw the house open and Rs 21,000 cash and lakhs of jewellery missing."

“The house was locked from outside as we had left it. The robbers entered the house after cutting the grill installed in the kitchen window,” Mishra added.

Taking preliminary action, police have booked a case of theft against unknown people. We are questioning the guards of the sector and examining the CCTV footage,” SHO Rampal Singh said.

Rakesh Mishra, aged 42, is living in the targeted house as tenant along with his wife and 13-year-old son. Mishra works as a quality manager with a multinational company.
