A labourer was found dead at the under construction site in Vasundhara on Sunday morning. Police found dead body of the labourer hanging from the railing of a flat on the sixth floor of the building.

The dead body was found around 6 am in the morning. A security guard had informed police about it.

“His neck was tied around the rope,” said Nazeer Ali Khan, Station House Officer (SHO) of Indirapuram.

“Prima facie, it appears as a case of suicide,” he added.

“As per the other labourers, the deceased was identified as Gautam who used to work as a labourer for last few months at a under construction condominium, JNC Green Woods. The age of deceased was reportedly between 35-40 years. He used to reside in the same campus,” police said.

“We got information about his name and age from other labourers,” Shlok Kumar, Superitendent of Police (SP), Ghaziabad said.

However, police is yet to verify his identity as there is lack of ample proofs.

Kumar said that proofs of identity and address were not found from the deceased. "We searched his clothes and belongings but didn't find any proof to verify his identity, not even a mobile phone," he added.

For now, police have sent the body for postmortem and interrogating the other labourers and the contractor for further investigation.
