A 65-year-old man allegedly raped a preschool child in a Ghaziabad crèche for the last four months. The day care is located in one of the upscale residential township in Ghaziabad, Gardenia Apartment. The accused has been booked and arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused happens to be the father-in-law of the crèche owner.
The crèche was vandalised by the residents of Gardenia Apartment on Wednesday after the news of the incident spread. Police took the situation in control, locked the crèche and assured of immediate action.
Ashutosh Jha, President RWA Gardenia Apartment demanded closure of the crèche and immediate arrest of the owner. He demanded that all the private establishments operating out of residential apartments should be closed.
The parents used to leave the child at the day care as both of them are working. Parents said that the child complained to them about her ordeal on Tuesday.
