Noida police arrested Rahul Awasthi, the prime accused in the death of a 25-year-old anchor with a national news channel. The victim, Radhika Kaushik, lived at Antriksh Forest, a high rise society in Sector 77.

The police said Awasthi has been inconsistent in his statements.

On Friday last week, at around 3.30 am, Radhika had fallen to her death from her fourth-floor balcony, and Awasthi, her senior colleague, was also present at the scene at the time of the incident.

On the basis of the complaint made by family members, police lodged an FIR against Rahul under Section 302 of IPC (punishment of murder).

Swetabh Pandey, Circle Officer 3, told City Spidey, “The accused was called in for questioning, but he began to contradict his own statements. He will be produced in the court today and we are demanding police custody.”
