Dwarka gym instructor robbery: Gang of 4 busted, including a woman

The police on Wednesday busted a gang of robbers, including a woman, who had allegedly looted a gym instructor near Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College in Dwarka last week.

A Nokia mobile phone, taxi with the same number plate that was used in the crime, driving license of the complainant and a knife were recovered from the accused, said the police.

The accused have been identified as Sunny, Sandeep Kumar and Neeraj.

A gym instructor, Ashish Kumar, was allegedly robbed by a gang of four in Dwarka on the night of January 17-18. According to the FIR, the incident happened when the gym instructor was given a lift in a WagonR car. He was waiting near Dwarka Mor to reach NSIT in Sector 3. The robbers had taken his ATM card, mobile, purse and bag.

According to the police, the investigation revealed that the taxi used in crime belonged to Dinesh Kumar of Nihal Vihar in New Delhi. He later disclosed that the taxi was being driven by his stepson Neeraj on the day of the crime.  

A police team raided the place and nabbed the robbers.

DCP, Dwarka, Anto Alphonse, said, “The gang roamed around the city late in the night searching for victims. The presence of a female member inside the car helped them gain trust of the commuters.”
