Come March end, Gurgaon will have its first public vehicle-charging station. The deputy commissioner of Gurgaon has signed an MoU for the same with a private firm, EV Motors.

And where will the charging station come up? At Rajiv Chowk.

EV Motors is expected to set up 6,500 such charging stations within the next five years in India.

The cost of setting up the station has been totalled at Rs 13 lakh. Three electric vehicles can use the facility at the same time.

It will take approximately an hour and a half to charge a vehicle. The vehicle owners can book their slots in advance and access the Wi-Fi lounge while waiting.
