Women residents of Windsor Park, Indirapuram, staged a protest against the alleged harassment by security guards and bouncers, many of them females, deployed in the society on Wednesday.

The protest was held inside the society from 7 pm to 8 pm. It was prompted by the scuffle between the security guards and the RWA members on Monday. RWA members Sudipto Pal and Shobhit Tyagi were allegedly beaten up by bouncers and security guards.

Women residents demanded immediate removal of the security service provider and bouncers from the society. Speaking to City Spidey, a resident, on condition of anonymity, said, “We want freedom from ‘gundagardi’ (hooliganism) of the security guards. The guards and bouncers have created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the society. People are afraid of speaking out freely. We are also afraid that similar incidents may happen to us."

Another resident said that Ghaziabad administration had earlier assured the residents of immediate action and removal of bouncers from the society, but nothing has been done yet. "There are lady bouncers moving in the society. We are afraid because they have no qualms about manhandling women residents too," the resident added.
