In view of the upcoming general elections, the election committee, formed to look after RWA election of Jaipuriya Sunrise Greens, has postponed the polling date by 7 days. The decision has come just two days before the election.

"It will be prudent to postpone polls for Sunrise Greens Residents Welfare Association (SGRWA) after Lok Sabha elections," the circular issued by the election committee read.

"SGRWA election shall now be held on April 14," the circular informed further.

The head of the election committee, Nadeem Ur Rehman, told City Spidey the decision was taken after the police and district administration conveyed its inability to provide assistance for the election.

"We were intimated the whole city administration is engrossed in facilitating the first phase of general elections due on next week," Nadeem said.

"We need police security to deal with if any untoward incident happens," he added.

Over 28000 first-time voters would vote across Ghaziabad, which will go to polls on April 11.
