Beginning July 1, it will be easier for the victims of street crime to file an FIR in Noida. The police will be literally just a call away. A person can report incidents of snatching of chains, mobile phones, wallets, two/three/four wheeler theft and house/factory theft by dialling 100 number.

The official twitter handle of Noida police claimed that even complaints of incidents like breaking of a window of a vehicle, which happens quite often in high rises in Noida and Greater Noida, can be registered by dialling 100 number.

The Noida police have also designated two police stations - Surajpur police station for rural area and Sector 24, Noida police station for the urban area to looking after cases related to cybercrime.

“People won’t have to rush to different places for getting their FIRs registered in such cases, giving relief to the victims of street crimes. It will help police in identifying hot spots of such crimes, identifying modus operandi of criminals in a better way,” Noida police said in its official tweet.

“Both the initiatives are to be implemented from July 1,” Noida police said.
