As per a government order dated February 8, 2016, the maintenance of DLF Qutub Enclave RWA (QERWA) was to be taken care of by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).

A delegation met the Additional Chief Secretary (Town & Country Planning and Urban Estates Department) P Raghvendra Rao to discuss the hand over on Thursday. The delegation comprised Municipal Councillor Rama Rani Rathee, president of QERWA RS Rathee, and other members of QERWA.

The delegation told Rao that the quality of facilities such as water supply, sewer and drainage systems, street lights and parks had deteriorated, as neither DLF nor the MCG was willing to take on the responsibility of the colony's maintenance.

Rao spoke to the MCG commissioner over phone and instructed him to call a meeting to sort out the issue and take responsibility of the colony immediately. He also promised to meet QERWA and the area councillor to zero in on a solution to the problem.

Residents suggested that the MCG take a cue from the builder and outsource all maintenance services. This will allow them to carry out the work without having to hire a work force and be free of the burden of paying a monthly staff salary.
