GreNo: Man beaten for not selling his house in Gaur city’s Galleria market

A resident of Greater Noida’s 11th Avenue in Gaur city-2 was beaten up by five men in the Galleria market located inside the township on Monday night.

Saurav Sharma, the victim, had gone out to bring groceries when the incident took place, which was recorded on the CCTV camera.

As per the footage, Saurav can be seen being side-lined and beaten with sticks and baseball bat by five men.

The victim has given a written complaint in Police chowki Gaur City, which falls under Bishrakh police station, but no FIR or action has been taken against the accused yet. 

In his complaint, he has allegedly accused one Deepak and four other men for beating him for denying to sell his house in which he currently lives in the township.

“This area is very unsafe, the guards saw that I was being manhandled but no one came to my rescue," Saurav alleged, adding, the officer-in-charge has not sent him for any Medico Legal Certificate (MLC) which is required to be done within 24 hours of the incident.

Talking to CitySpidey, few other residents of the society said, “We don't feel safe in spite of security guards around, this is the second such incident in the last three days.

Several residents of Gaur City have been raising concern over their security in the residential township through different social platforms.

Anil Kumar, beat in-charge, 14th Avenue police chowki told our reporter that the investigation in the matter was underway and provision for security of the residents of the area is police's only priority and every effort in this direction is being made.

In the past several weeks, many cases of robbery and snatching have been reported in the area and on Tuesday morning, two motor-cycle borne men snatched a chain from a woman in front of Manthan school in Gaur city-2.
