Arun Vihar Resident Welfare Association (AVRWA), an army sector in Noida, secured the top rank in the first quarter of sub Cleanliness Survey 2020 which was recently conducted by Noida Industrial Development Authority.
Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, awarded the first prize to the AVRWA for its outstanding performance at Ward 2 (a residential block in Arun Vihar) at an event held recently at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, Sector 6.
This award was for the period from April to June 2019 in the sub Swachh Sarvekshan 2020. KPMG, an independent private agency, judged the performance of the sector in the maintenance of cleanliness. Col Shashi Vaid, chairman of AVRWA, accompanied by Col VP Gulati, director of Ward 2, received the award from Noida's CEO.
He urged the Noida Authority to resolve the issue of nullah (open drain) flowing through residential area of Arun Vihar. The foul stench emanating from the drain making the lives of the residents miserable.
''There should be a lasting solution to this problem,” averred Vaid.
