Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on Mahagun India, a  builder, for operating three Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plants without procuring No Objection Certificate (NOC) at Techzone-4 in Greater Noida West.

On the other hand, builders like Gaur Sons, Nandi Infratech, GLD Infra Project and AR Landcraft were asked to pay a penalty of Rs 5 lakh each for violating pollution norms at their construction sites.

Mahagun India is constructing a project at Techzone-4 in Greater Noida West. During an inspection, UPPCB found that three RMC plants were in operation. Raw materials were found lying in open. Also, there was no compliance with the green norms.

UPPCB has imposed a penalty under the guidelines issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). It has now sent a letter to Greater Noida Authority asking for permission to seal the plants.

“We had received complaints of violating NGT’s norms and the action has been taken. We have also directed the Greater Noida Authority to seal RMC plant,” said an official, confirming the report.
