Noida police nabs five men involved in separate vehicle theft cases

Noida police on Saturday arrested five men involved in three separate incidents of vehicle theft.

A team of officials from Sector 49 police station arrested three persons from the rotary of Sector 116. They also seized a stolen SUV. The arrested persons were identified as Deepak Raj Singh from Greater Noida; Vinay Singh from GB Nagar and Paras Kumar from Ghaziabad.

As per the police, they were involved in stealing cars and then selling them after changing their number plate and forging the registration certificate.

Two other accomplices, Satendra Singh and Anil, are absconding and police has ordered a lookout notice for them.

The accused have been booked under Section 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of documents), 468 (forgery for cheating) and 471 (using forged documents) of the Indian Penal Code and will be presented in the court on Monday.

In a separate incident, a motorcycle-borne man was intercepted by police near Mamura Chowk and later arrested after he was not able to present the papers of the bike.

During the interrogation, the man confessed to have stolen the bike from Noida’s Sector 66 on September 26 and changed the number plate out of fear to be caught.

The man has been identified as Rohit and a case under section 379 (theft), 411 (stolen property) and 482 (punishment for using false property mark) of the IPC has been registered in Noida’s phase 3 police station.

Similarly, a man identified as Chaman Khuswaha, a resident of Ghaziabad, was arrested by officials of Sector 20 police station after a knife and stolen auto was seized from him near Sector 71. The man has been booked under Section 379 (theft), 411 (stolen property) of the IPC and 3/25 (carrying arms without license) of the Arms Act.
