Two months after the Deputy Registrar, Meerut, asked the Noida district administration to appoint an election officer for Prateek Laurel AOA elections, city magistrate Bachchu Singh nominated Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Gautam Budh Nagar, as the election commissioner.
Bachchu Singh has issued a letter to the Assistant Registrar, informing him that under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and its Section 25 (2), he has been assigned the responsibility of conducting free and fair elections in accordance with the society's by-laws.
The Prateek Laurel AOA was annulled by the Deputy Registrar, Society and Firm, Meerut, after residents complained that society by-laws were being violated.
