Dwarka: The residents of Sector 11, Dwarka, are miffed with the DDA Horticulture Department for leaving trimmed branches of trees on footpaths and roads, which in turn are blocking the view and acting as a hurdle for pedestrians.
According to the residents, the tree-trimming work has been going on for the past three days and clipped tree branches have been left uncleared in front of Rama Apartments, Palm Green Apartments and Gulmohar Apartments.
Gajanan Shinde, who resides at the Rama Apartments, said, “They are throwing all the pruned branches in nearby places and when we tell them to clear the place, they say it is not their job and that the same will be done in the morning by garbage collectors.”
The authorities are doing nothing to clear the footpath and remove the branches of the trees from the footpath and roads.
Vijay Patil, a resident of Palm View Apartments, said, “The trimmed branches are lying on footpaths since the last three days and could soon become places for mosquito breeding if not cleared soon. Cases of dengue are already on the rise, so the authority needs to be more cautious.”
The authority needs to look into this matter as soon as possible.
