Residents of Divine Meadows, a society in Noida's Sector 108, are deprived of a clubhouse since 2014, when they got possession of their flats. The builder had charged residents Rs 50,000 per flat as club-membership fees, promising to get the clubhouse ready by 2015. However, it is still not ready.

"We don't have a place to organise small functions and meetings," said Dhiraj Kumar, a resident. "The only part of the clubhouse that is ready is the banquet hall. But we can't afford it on many occasions as the builder charges about Rs 25,000 an hour."

Surender Kushwaha, president of the society's homebuyers' association, said the builder's higher management was not willing to talk to them. "The builder's maintenance staff has no idea when the clubhouse will be functional."

When City Spidey contacted Rajeev Sharma, the builder's project director, he said they intended to complete work at the earliest, but it was not possible to put a date to it. About the banquet hall, Sharma justified the exorbitant charges by saying they kept the hall well maintained.
