Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has given instructions to keep the state-run sports facilities in Delhi open till 10 pm for athletes as per Delhi Government's directive already in place. This development came about on May 26, 2022, after a media report said that the Thyagraj Stadium was closed earlier than usual so that an IAS officer could take his dog there for a walk. The order covers Delhi government sports facilities such as Thyagraj Stadium and Chhatrasal Stadium.
Taking the matter to twitter, Deputy CM Sisodia said, "News reports have brought to our notice that certain sports facilities are being closed early causing inconvenience to sportsmen who wish to play till late nite. CM @ArvindKejriwal has directed that all Delhi Govt sports facilities to stay open for sportsmen till 10pm"
