Residents of Anandlok Society, a residential society in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, would soon find concrete roads in the premises as the society’s managing committee has begun the much-awaited development work.

The internal roads of the society have been in a sorry state for many years. Damaged surface and potholes gave residents a tough time. Residents had been demanding development of the roads for the past couple of years. The work is estimated to be completed by the end of January.

RK Sharma, president of managing committee, told City Sidey, "Around Rs 40 lakhs will be spent for road construction. The managing committee will bear the cost and no extra money will be taken from the residents."

When asked if the society had received funds from the state government for the construction, Sharma said, "No. We have not received any fund from the government."

Sharma added that the managing committee has also decided to setup a new lift in block B. "There are 16 lifts to cater to the residents of the 304 flats. Rs 20 lakh is the estimated cost for the new lift and it will be setup by end of January," he said.
