Noida Extension Flat Owner Welfare Association (NEFOWA) organised an event at the Community Centre in Sector 19, Noida, on March 19, where homebuyers interacted with legal experts over issues related to purchase of flats. Around 500 buyers from Noida and Greater Noida attended the event.

The following issues were discussed at the event:

Kumar told City Spidey that a lot of buyers were facing problems with builders. “Buyers invest their life savings in the projects but they are still living in rented houses. We are now ready for a legal fight against all builders,” he added.

Sinha said that he suggested all homebuyers to file a case against the builders. He also told the buyers that there were different ways to register a case for different issues in the High Court and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC).

“Homebuyers find themselves short of options to deal with situations such as delayed or halted construction, unethical demands by builders and poor quality construction. Builders have made a mockery of our hard-earned savings. We have spoken to the builders, the authorities, the administration, political leaders and other agencies in this regard, but to no effect,” said Abhinav Singh, a homebuyer.
