Isn't it better to let the RWAs take care of community centres?

The Federation of Noida RWAs (FONRWA) wrote to Amit Mohan Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority to express their dissatisfaction over the decision to take over the management of community centres from them.

In their letter, the federation said they were of the opinion that in the past, the authority had not been able to maintain the community centres properly. They pointed out that the maintenance of the community centres had improved only when the Authority had appointed the RWAs to look after them. The federation believed if the Authority took over the facilities again, the state of the community centres would deteriorate.

NP Singh, president of the federation, said the reason why the Authority had decided to take over the maintenance and operations of the community centres, as some residents had lodged a complaint about a few  RWAs overcharging to book the community centres for private parties and functions.

"Rather than snatching the rights to manage a community centre, the Authority should issue strict instructions against the RWAs overcharging for the facility," reasoned Singh.
