Pedestrians’ right to walk safely has long been snatched due to the apathy of civic authorities. Either the pathways are dug up or encroached. Face lifting repair works carried out by civic authorities are even more dangerous.

Pedestrians fall victim to the uneven filling of pits and haphazard arrangement of the tiles.

To rub salt on the injuries, BSES has now dumped its discarded cemented poles. Schools have already managed SDMC to illegally construct ramps on the pathways to use it as car parking area for the teachers and staffs.

And, who else will take care of the livelihood of migrants?

Mushrooming of tea and pan stalls and eateries have made things worse. To sum up, right to walk on footpaths has been taken away from the residents.
