Protests against school fee hike finally bore fruit, at least for some parents in Dwarka. On Saturday, more than hundred parents of children studying in Delhi Public School, Sector 3, had staged a protest against the fee hike in front of the school.

The school administration announced a roll back on the hike on Tuesday. It announced the roll back for the year 2016-2017 on its website.

Jagdeep Singh, a parent and resident of Sri Niketan Society, Sector 7, said, “The notice posted on the website mentions that the excess fee paid in quarter one will be adjusted in the next quarter. This comes as a huge relief for us."

Deepak Malkani, another parent and resident of NPSC Society, Sector 2, said, “We are happy that the school rolled back the fee. Now we are waiting for more of our demands to be fulfilled. We want a transparent accounts system with easily accessible personnel. A democratic parents-teachers association is another one of our demands. We awaiting a response on these two issues from the school administration.”
