Dwarka Sector 8 will get separate power connection directly from the grid to address its power woes in 1-2 months. This was disclosed by BSES DGM Vimal Goel at a meeting with a delegation of the residents of the sector.

The delegation, led by secretary of the Sector 8 RWA, AS Chhatwal, took up with BSES divisional officials the issues of load shedding, unilluminated streets, stolen transformers and broken feeder pillars among others.

The delegation had a meeting with the DGM and other officers of the BSES in this regard. The officials promised the delegation to take up the issues on priority.

One of the issues raised included the sector lanes turning dark after sunset. "This could be either due to missing electricity connection, or the nonfunctional bulbs. The infrastructure of streetlights needs revamp," said resident, MK Sharma.

Speaking to City Spidey, Chhatwal said, "We have highlighted the issue of frequent faults in the cables which are leading to frequent power cuts in the area.”
