In a meeting held on Monday between the residents of 14th Avenue in Greater Noida's Gaur City-2 and the representatives of the developers, it was decided that no maintenance charges will be increased for the next six months.

Over 70 residents of the society met Rahul Tyagi, Assistant General Manager Gaursons, and addressed their problems.

On August 25, the residents of 14th Avenue had held a protest for the increase of maintenance charge from Re 1 to Rs 1.50.

As per the residents, they were not even getting basic facilities for the maintenance they were being charged with and an increase was unnecessary since 60 percent construction was still on-going in the society.

Talking to our reporter, Annu Khan of NEFOWA (Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association) said, "The builders are already charging us surplus. We will now inquire about maintenance charges in other societies to see as to whether the amount we are paying is of any worth or not.”

He added that the residents are left with no option but to endure as the developer everywhere have been taking advance up to a year.
