After PMs niece, UP cabinet ministers relative becomes chain-snatching victim

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's niece became victim of chain snatching in Delhi earlier this week, a relative of Uttar Pradesh's cabinet minister was also robbed of her chain in Greater Noida on Saturday.

Sushma Devi (65), maternal aunt of Nand Gopal Nandi, minister for stamp and civil aviation in Uttar Pradesh government was few metres from her house in Greater Noida's Beta-2 when three motorcycle-borne men came near her and snatched her gold chain in broad daylight.

During the attack, the men also tried to push Sushma but she somehow managed to raise an alarm. But by then, the miscreants had fled from the spot.

As per police, a case has been registered against unidentified men and the matter is being investigated.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ranvijay Singh has assured that the culprits will be arrested very soon.

There has been no drop in the chain-snatching incidents in Greater Noida region. It happening despite police remaining vigilant and arresting culprits of past cases every day since a month now.
