Crossings Republik: Family accuses house help for theft at Assotech society

Ghaziabad: Following the theft at a flat in Assotech society at Crossings Republik, the family accused the house help for stealing jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh. The house help was hired just a day before the incident.  

The lady, who was working as a house help, is also missing after the incident. She was hired from SR Dolphin Security company which is based in the society itself. 

Police are investigating the matter and searching for clues to find the lady.

Arpit Agrawal, who works as a software engineer HCL technologies, lives with his parents, wife and a four-year-old son in the flat where the incident took place. The incident happened when only his wife and son were present in the flat. 

Arpit said that when the incident took place, his wife was with his son in another room. His father had gone out of station and mother to a nearby temple. They got to know about the theft late in the evening when they opened the almirah where the jewellery was kept.

“My mother had forgot to take out key from the lock of the almirah. My wife was in another room. Seeing this as an opportunity, she stole the jewellery,” Arpit alleged. 

Aprit alleged that the security agency had send her without cross checking her background. “They sent her to our house without doing verification,” Arpit alleged.

A complaint has been filed at Vijay Nagar police station. Officials said that staff of the security company are being interrogated. In the meantime, police are searching for the accused as well.
