  • Road caves in under IIT Delhi flyover

    Traffic has been diverted and people asked to avoid the IIT Delhi area as a huge chunk of road has caved in causing traffic disruptions. Delhi Traffic Police tweeted, “Due to the collapse of the road near IIT traffic light, vehicles going from IIT to Adhchini have been diverted to Katwaria Sarai. Please avoid using this route."

  • Delhi govt allows metro, bus services to operate at full capacity

    New Delhi: The Delhi government on Saturday allowed metro and bus services to operate at full capacity from July 26 (Monday). The relaxation has come in view of the improving Covid situation in the city. “Metro and buses are permitted to operate with 100% capacity in Delhi from 5 am, July 26. Cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes will function with 50% capacity,” Delhi Disaster Management Authority order said. The DDMA also relaxed norms for shops, market complexes, malls, restaurants, bars, cinema halls, multiplexes, auditoriums, assembly halls, business exhibitions and marriage related gatherings. Delhi reported 66 new coronavirus cases with no deaths on Saturday.

  • Housing Scheme 2021: DDA extends last date for payment of cost of flats

    New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the last date for payment of cost of flat under the Housing Scheme 2021. The decision has been taken in view of the second wave of coronavirus. The last date for making payment of cost of flats was extended to August 31, 2021. The allottees can make payment of cost of flats without any interest. Earlier, the last date for payment of cost of flats was June 29, 2021 except for the allottees of Sector 16B, Dwarka. The DDA had launched the Housing Scheme 2021 on January 2 which was open till February 16.

  • Delhi: Govt CVCs to administer only second dose of Covishield till July 31

    New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday announced that only the second dose of Covishield vaccine will be administered at Covid vaccination centres (CVCs) till July 31. “In view of the limited supply of vaccine, all slots, both for online booking and for walk-in vaccination in the sessions being planned in government CVCs administering Covishield vaccine, will be reserved for second dose with immediate effect,” the order read. The vaccination for people in the age group of 18 to 44 years was started on May 1. The second dose is administered after completion of 84 days since the first dose.

  • DJB VC Raghav Chadha pays surprise visit to UGRs in Central & West Delhi

    In order to augment water supply in Delhi, Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Raghav Chadha paid a surprise visit to Underground Reservoirs in Central & West Delhi on Thursday at 4:00 am. After visiting the areas, he instructed the officials to maintain the predetermined water levels at each reservoir to ensure an uninterrupted water supply. VC Raghav Chadha checked the morning water levels and the UGRs’ Electrical and Mechanical Equipment health status, he then called the residents of the area to confirm the availability of water. The residents confirmed that water was now available and thanked him for his efforts.

  • Dwarka: DDA SFS Flats tussle with water shortage

    Residents of various societies of Dwarka located in Sector 5, 4, and 12 are facing a water crisis these days. People have complained that the water supply has been very poor for the past 2-3 weeks, making it difficult for them to meet daily requirements. Mahesh Gupta, General Secretary of the RWA said, “There are societies and DDA pockets that are suffering from the water crisis in Dwarka. The Underground Reservoir (UGR) at sector 4, Harmony Apartments is catered through supply from CT-3. This UGR supplies water to three pockets of DDA i.e sector 5, pocket-1, sector 4, pocket-1, and sector 11, pocket -1. Day by day, supply is getting reduced from ct-3. Tankers have also been reduced to fill the Underground Reservoir (UGR) for reasons best known to Executive Engineer, Dwarka.”
