    Delhi to receive fresh spells of rain on Sept 15, 16: IMD

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi-NCR for September 15 and 16. It is likely to rain heavily in several areas of the capital. The probability of rain on September 16 is very high and it is likely to be followed by strong winds flowing at 30-40 km an hour. Monsoons in Delhi have already broken all records. The city has recorded nearly 1,146 mm of rainfall making it the wettest monsoon in the past 46 years. According to the IMD, this may be the last strong spell of rain. However, light rain may precede or follow it.

    Abdul Hamid was a Company Master Havildar who single-handedly destroyed seven tanks in the 1965 Indo-Pak war. After joining the army at the young age of 20, Hamid fought in the 4th Battalion of the Grenadiers during the Battle of Asal Uttar. His bravery gave the Indian defence an edge during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. He was posthumously rewarded with the highest military award – Param Vir Chakra – for his bravery and sacrifice. Abdul Hamid is an example of the several war heroes shrouded in the pages of history.

    Noida: In view of declining Covid cases, the night curfew will now be applicable from 11 pm to 6 am as against 10 pm to 6 am earlier. The order has come after cinema hall, multiplex, and hospitality owners sought relaxation in night curfew as it was affecting their business. Other than the time, all Covid protocols will be strictly followed. It was also declared that the order has to be implemented immediately.

  • DU campus to open for final year students from Sep 15

    New Delhi: According to the latest notice, the Delhi University will open for final year UG and PG students with 50 per cent capacity from September 15. This is done so that students can complete the essential lab practicals, experiments, or practices. However, online classes will still be held. Further, the order said that all teaching and non-teaching staff must be vaccinated with both doses whereas students must take at least one shot of the vaccine.

Doodling can be compared to a child's scribbles or mindful patterns called doodle art. Doodling was first discovered in the 17th century. It is considered to improve learning, creativity, better productivity, and generating ideas.

  • NEFOMA organised a vaccination drive for domestic helpers in GreNo

    On Thursday, June 2, Greater Noida West District Administration and team NEFOMA organised a three-day free vaccination drive for domestic helpers in Gautam Buddha Nagar at Gaur International School, Gaur City 2. On the first day, 1419 people were vaccinated, which includes maintenance staff, security guards and elderly women and men. Rashmi Pandey, General Secretary, NEFOMA said, “Most of the domestic helpers were not even able to register online, for which the facility of spot vaccination was given to all.” Annu Khan, President, NEFOMA said, “There is a lot of relief in the district from these vaccination camps and we all the members of the NEFOMA team are working for the success of the free camps.”

  • Insta outage reported worldwide

    Instagram went down in several parts of the world due to unclear issues on Thursday. According to Downdetector, the platform that keeps track of internet outages, the Instagram services went down at around 11:30 am IST, while the reports about the outage peaked at around 12:30 pm IST. India seemed to be the worst hit by the outage, with swaths of consumers reporting they were not able to access Instagram in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Facebook did not publicly acknowledge the issue, but Instagram's parent company started to fix the issue nearly two hours after the issue first emerged.

In 1975, the National Nutrition Week was first marked by the American Dietetic Association. In 1982, the central government in India launched its campaign to educate people about the importance of nutrition and to encourage them to develop a healthy lifestyle. The theme of National Nutrition Week 2021 is ‘feeding smart right from the start’.

  • Doorstep delivery of public services gets renewed with toll free access

    The door step delivery of public services has been renewed for another term by Delhi Government and it’s accessing has been made easier as the 1076 helpline will become toll-free now. The facility has been in Delhi through which people avail about 150 services of the Delhi Government from their homes. All they have to do is to call 1076 and then an officer comes to their home and gets their work done. Recently the cabinet has decided to further extend the doorstep delivery of public services. Soon, all services of the Delhi Government will be made faceless where citizens will be able to access any government service while sitting at home and would not require coming to government offices.
