UP Board sends notice to Jaipuriya society for misusing land allotment

Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board has sent notice to Seth Anand Ram Jaipuriya Educational Society for running a school on the land allotted for the construction of degree college in Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad.

The notice has been sent after it was revealed through an RTI that application that Jaipuriya society is running Jaipuriya Public School on a land in Sector 14, Vasundhara which was allotted for a degree college.

The notice was sent after All Schools Parents Association (ASPA) complained the matter, which came to the fore after RTI application, on IGRS portal of UP government.

The RTI revealed disregard of the rule by Seth Anand Ram Jaipuriya Educational Society.

The documents obtained through the RTI proved that the society received an allotment letter of the land in February 1997 to build a degree college. However, they started running a higher secondary school on the land of size 22,088 square meters.

“We have demanded for cancellation of allotment of the land. They have deceived the administration,” said Sachin Soni, General Secretary of ASPA.

The housing board has directed its executive engineer to make a report on the matter after a field inspection of the site. “Once the allegation is confirmed in the report, the board will take action as per the law,” said Narsingh Prasad, Superintending Engineer, UP Housing and Development Board, Ghaziabad division.
