New Delhi: The Krishna Nagar constituency is a prominent one in East Delhi area. So many famous faces have contested from the constituency in the past. Now, as the elections draw closer, the residents have started putting their civic issues in front of the candidates belonging to different political parties. 

As usual, there is a three-cornered contest at this constituency. The candidates from Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress party have started campaigning in the area to garner support for themselves. 

This time, one social worker and two doctors are in the field to fight the elections. 

The AAP has fielded SK Bagga who is an advocate and social worker. Fighting from the constituency, he had won the last elections held in 2015. He had defeated the BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi with a margin of around two thousand votes. 

65-year-old Bagga is a post graduate from Meerut University. He was also part of Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement. As per the residents, the Krishna Nagar constituency was considered safe for the BJP. But the myth was broken in 2015 when AAP's Bagga came out with flying colours. 

The BJP has fielded a fresh face Dr Anil Goel from the constituency. He is a doctor (Urologist) by profession. He is a distinguished face among doctors association of Delhi. He has also held position of Head Medical Unit of BJP cell in Delhi. Dr Goel is a well known Urologist in Delhi. 

As a matter of fact, the Krishna Nagar constituency was a prominent BJP seat held by Dr Harsh Vardhan. He vacated the seat in 2014 when he was elected to the Parliament. 

As far as Congress party is concerned, they have fielded Dr Ashok Kumar Walia. He is a well-known politician. He was member of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th legislative Assembly of Delhi. He had also served as a minister in Sheila Dixit government.   

He had earlier contested from Laxmi Nagar and Geeta Colony constituencies.
