Noida: A car caught fire at the basement of Grand Ajnara Heritage, a highrise in Sector 74, Noida on Friday evening. The fire was controlled with the help of water sprinklers installed at the basement.
As the sprinklers started automatically, the flame was brought under control shortly.
Residents said that the basement had completely turned into smoke chamber with zero visibility during fire in car.
DK Singh, President of Apartments Owners Association (AOA) of the society said that there is no passage for smoke, hence basement was converted into gas chamber.
He said, “We called police and fire department to inform the incident. Police reached on the spot in short span and saw the basement turning into smoke chamber due to lack of ventilation.”
He said that fire brigade was returned as they were informed by police that fire is under control. He said that he had a telephonic discussion with fire department.
