Holes in Amrapali list, no end in sight for homebuyers' woes

Noida: Many discrepancies and errors were found in the Amrapali homebuyers' list submitted by Supreme court-appointed receiver, R Venkataramani.

Till the matter is not cleared the registered deeds of the homebuyers would be in the receiver's custody.

After the completion of the verification process of Amrapali Sapphire 1, Sapphire 2 and Platinum, a list was submitted to the top court. When the list was compared with the other two lists submitted by forensic auditors, some errors cropped up.

The forensic auditors' lists contained cases of undervalued sales as well as other cases, where the amounts were recoverable from the homebuyers.

After scrutiny, several names were found excluded from the registration while the rest on the forensic auditor's lists had gone for the registration. Taking note of this, Venkataramani ordered retrieval of the registered deeds of those excluded in the list.

Acknowledging multiple sales and loans on the same unit, he requested the forensic auditors to look into all the incongruities.

The homebuyers should not worry as the names which are not cleared and withheld will be taken up later for the registration. The verification process for the commercial allottees of Sapphire and Platinum will be taken up after the verifications in Princely Estate, Zodiac and Silicon City.

The registration process for Sapphire 1 and 2 in Sector 45, Noida started in January 2019. It was on February 16 this year the 700 homebuyers of the aforementioned project were notified to collect their property papers from the court receiver's office.
