Noida: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari announced here on Sunday that there won’t be metro train and city bus services till March 31.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), along with the city bus service, has suspended its operations in the city till March 31.
Till 10 pm on Saturday (March 21), six positive cases of coronavirus were reported from Gautam Budh Nagar district, four from Noida and one from Greater Noida.
The transport services have been suspended in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts to seize the spread of the disease have been undertaken by the Union government.
Anuj Dayal, the Executive Director of Corporate Communications (DMRC) in a press release on Sunday said “As per the latest decision in the fight against CoronaVirus it has been decided that metro services will remain completely closed till March 31’.
The number of positive cases in India stands at 341 till 10 am on Sunday as per the Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR).
Meanwhile, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) too has had decided to suspend its operation till March 31. Hence there won't be metro services in the National Capital till then.
