Noida: With 102 people testing coronavirus positive on Tuesday, Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally reached 8,058, according to the official data.

As many as 86 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the overall recoveries to 6,946 with a recovery rate of 86.20 per cent in the district. It was 86.18 per cent on Monday, 86.54 per cent on Sunday, 86.45 per cent on Saturday, and 86.65 per cent on Friday, as per the statistics.

The total number of active cases has gone up to 1,067 from 1,055 on Monday, while the death toll remained 45 with no death linked to coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours. The district’s fatality rate stood at 0.55 per cent, better from 0.56 per cent on the previous day.

Meanwhile, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh tested positive on Tuesday and was hospitalised on the advice of the doctors.

“On getting the initial symptoms of coronavirus, I got tested and the report has come positive. I have been hospitalised on the advice of doctors. I request that all of you, who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get yourself tested,” he tweeted.

As on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh recorded 5,571 fresh cases and 57 deaths linked to coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The state’s cumulative tally rose to 2,35,757, while the death toll counted to 3,542, the state health bulletin said.

Of the total caseload, 1,76,677 patients were treated and discharged so far, while there are 55,538 active cases across the state. The state’s recovery rate counted to 74.94 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.50 per cent.
