Dwarka: The long wait for Bharat Vandana Park is soon going to end. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has given its go ahead for park to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The park is expected to showcase a mini India and will be developed as a tourist spot in the national capital. Now, the DDA is gearing up to start the development work of the highly anticipated park.

As per information, the park will be developed in an area of 230 acres at Sector 20 in Dwarka. The expected cost to develop the park would be Rs 530 crore. The foundation stone for the park was laid by the Home Minister Amit Shah in December 2019. The park will be developed by National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC). The development work is expected to get complete by November, 2022.

The park will be one of its kind with depiction of cultural and natural heritage of all the states in India. A mini India will be recreated at the park.

The park will be in the shape of a Lotus having nine petals. Each petal will exhibit different theme. The park will also have a recreational zone, fun zone, lake view restaurant, environment zone, tree walk zone, etc.

As per the plans, visitors would be able to walk from one tree to the other at the tree walk zone. The trees will be connected to each other through bridges. In that zone, no one would be allowed to walk on ground. Under the tree walk trail, there would be a biodiversity area to give a feel of forest.

Bharat Vandana Project would have maximum green area and it would largely be based on sustainability as far as water conservation is concerned. 17 per cent part of the park will be having water body of different types and shapes. The largest water body will be at the centre of the park.

All the eleven water bodies would be connected with boating facilities. People can enjoy boating from one water body to another.

The park also boasts of effective water conservation system. Water bodies will be having membranes under it so that water could reach to aquifers. There are also four dedicated STP plants and under ground reservoir in the park.

In the project, there would be depiction of eight wonders of the world. Besides, there would be specific monuments and geographical replicas like Thar Desert and Ran of Kachh etc. It will be made to make people feel the essence of nature and its beauty.

Different types of vegetation would also be there at the park. Lightings in the shape of trees, flowers, and leaves would mesmerise the visitors. Other attractions will be eco-sensitive zones, robotics, ride of trams and toy trains.
