New Delhi : The “Pawri ho rahi hai” trend continues unabatedly. On Sunday, the Delhi police joined ‘Pawri ho rahi hai’ trends on Twitter after they seized 24 hookahs during a raid at a restaurant-cum-bar in the city.

The Twitter handle of Delhi Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District shared, “yeah hum hai, or yeah hooke hai, aur ab pawri nhi ho rhi hai,” and added, “PS- Some Pawris are not only injurious to health they are illegal too. Seized 24 Hookah from Rajouri Garden area. (sic)”

The meme had set the social media on fire when it came online. Dananeer Mobeen, a Pakistani Instagram influencer, spoke with a very sinuous tone as she was having a party with her friends as their car was parked on the road.

“The police team found that the protocols of Covid-19 were not followed by the restaurant. There was no use of screening machines or hand sanitisers at the restaurant. The customers were also found to be smoking hookahs,” the senior police officer said.

Delhi police registered a case under Section 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) according to the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), prohibiting smoking in public places.
