Delivery services and cloud kitchens

In recent years food delivery services have become popular in India. This was an ongoing trend for quite some time. Due to covid-19, the restaurant structure has suffered a lot of loss. People were restraining themselves from going out. Startups like Zomato and other cloud kitchens came to the service. People shifted more towards these online food platforms. And many small food businesses were able to function due to these commercial platforms. After all who does not like fresh, hot food being delivered to their doorsteps.

Nutrition above all

Throughout the lockdown period, health was a major concern among all age groups. Also, physical training exercises and at-home workouts became popular again.

This led to people choosing healthier food options. Protein-rich diet videos gained massive likes. Even online food services saw again in demand for nutrition-rich food options. People were looking for superfoods and immunity boosters as strong immunity was like a shield to protect ourselves against the pandemic. Since now people are getting serious with their health, this is trend is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Ready-to-cook food

One thing which went throughout lockdown was the theme of ‘work from home. Some were so busy in their 9 to 5 cycle, they did not get to have a lot of free time even at home. This made ready-to-cook food options quite popular. They are very less time-consuming but their main marketing pitch is that they are nutritionally valuable.

Ready-to-cook food has fewer calories and more carbohydrates and multivitamins making them super nutritional. Since people are dying to shed their quarantine fat, ready-to-cook food can be the next big thing in the food industry.

Slow cooking scenes

In the quarantine period, slow cooking has received a lot of attention. Slow cooking is cooking a huge amount of food at very minimum heat for a longer time. Slow cooking can take about three to four hours approximately. Having a lot of time in their hands due to pandemics, people have again started enjoying age-old slow cooking methods. The flavour of any food, especially any kind of meat, gets enhanced in slow cooking.

The food breaks down slowly and becomes tender. All the nutrients and flavour get absorbed nicely and the spices have more time to get interlaced with the food. These days people use the slow cooker, available in the market, for slow cooking.
