Sci-Fi films you should definitely watch

Since the release of Ryan Reynolds' 'The Adam Project' has become a sensation, it is time to look for other brilliant sci-fi films that you will definitely enjoy. The sci-fi genre in itself is so exciting and innovative that filmmakers love to experiment with it. Here are a few more sci-fi films that you should add to your watchlist-

Arq- Netflix

Renton, played by Robbie Amell, is an engineer who creates ARQ, a perpetual motion machine that traps him in a time loop. Because of this machine, he is forced to relive the same incident taht he is killed in a home invasion, only to wake up before the events unfold. Arq, directed by Tony Elliot, is a surprisingly good film that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its thrilling and suspenseful storyline. In addition to Robbie, the film stars Rachael Taylor, Gray Powell, and Shaun Benson.

When we first met- Netflix

When things don't go our way, most of us wish we could go back in time and either fix our mistakes or change the course of events. In real life, time travel is impossible, but Ari Sandel gave Adam DeVine the same opportunity in this romantic comedy. The plot revolves around a man who falls in love with a woman only to have her friend-zone him. Unable to forget her, he decides to make her fall in love with him when he accidentally travels back in time.

Predestination- Amazon Prime

This sci-fi thriller, starring Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook, and Noah Taylor, revolves around an agent who travels back to the 1970s to prevent a bomb attack in New York. However, he quickly realises that this mission may not be as simple as he thought. The premise is simple, but the film's treatment and unexpected plot twists make this film directed by Michael and Peter Spierig worthy of this binge-watch list.

Before I fall- Netflix

Samantha, played by Zoey Deutch, is a young woman who appears to have it all: a loving boyfriend, a group of devoted friends, and seemingly perfect life. But one car accident changes everything. After her death, nothing changes. She is transported back in time and forced to relive her death day repeatedly. This film, directed by Ry Russo Young, is a typical teen drama with a dash of suspense, thrill, and mind-numbing psychological adventure.

About time- Netflix

This romantic comedy directed by Richard Curtis revolves around a young man who discovers he has a unique ability to travel through time. He makes use of this ability to better his life, correct any mistakes he has made, and experience love. However, his desire to live a perfect life causes more problems than he could have imagined. This film, starring Domnhall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams, and Bill Nighy, is a lesson for us all to live each day as it comes, without worrying about the future or the past.

The Butterfly Effect- Amazon Prime

This sci-fi film, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart, is about a 20-year-old college student who suffers from headaches and blackouts on a regular basis. But what happens when there are blackouts? He is transported back to his childhood, where he witnesses some horrific events and attempts to alter the course of those events. His actions, however, have a significant impact on his current life. The film leaves us wondering if it was right to change the events of the past, or if it is even possible to correct one's past without affecting one's present.
